About MoneyLast Calculator

An independent, free calculator for one of the most important questions in retirement planning: how long will my money last?

What this site is

MoneyLast Calculator is an independent educational tool. We are not a bank, a brokerage, an insurance company or a financial advisor — and we don't pretend to be. The site exists to give you a clear, honest, no-signup answer to a practical question, using the same math a planner would sketch on a napkin: a monthly projection of your savings, spending, Social Security or pension income, returns and inflation.

How the calculation works

The calculator runs a month-by-month simulation of your portfolio. Each month your balance grows at your expected annual return (compounded monthly), then your spending minus outside income is withdrawn. If you enable inflation adjustment, both spending and benefits grow each month to match your annual inflation rate. The result is the number of months until the balance reaches zero — an estimate, not a prediction.

Key assumptions are listed on the calculator page: constant returns, constant inflation, no taxes or fees, no market volatility, and Social Security treated as level real income starting at the age you choose. Full sources are cited there as well (Social Security Administration, Bengen 1994, the Trinity study, BLS).

Privacy by design

Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type — your savings, age, spending or benefits — is ever transmitted to, or stored on, any server. There is no account system and nothing to sign up for. Read the full privacy policy.
